With more than 150 public parks and gardens, it’s no wonder Toowoomba is known as “the garden city”…

  • Enjoy the aromas of the scented garden at the charming Laurel Bank Park  on the corner of Herries and West Streets
  • Walk through Toowoomba’s iconic Queens Park and Gardens in Margaret Street
  • Feed the ducks at Lake Annand
  • Spot bird species galore at the Bicentennial Waterbird Habitat which has a hide for the purpose
  • Visit Australia’s largest traditionally designed Japanese Gardens adjacent to the University of Southern Qld, exploring the three kilometres of pathways and bridges
  • Make sure you visit the State Rose Garden when the 1,500 rose bushes in Newtown Park are in bloom
  • Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch and a talk by the gardener at Spring Bluff Railway Station
  • Pick up some plants to take home including Toowoomba’s floral emblems, sweet violet and golden wattle from one of the areas 15 garden centres
  • Finish the day with a glass of wine after touring the private heritage listed six-hectare Boyce Gardens Estate with more than 700 species including a pocket of natural rainforest.
